Moving to India – Rain and Flooding Delays Shipments

Abels have recieved information for those moving to India about servere flooding in the Himachal and Uttarakhand region of India. This will effect all shipments to the region.

We have been advised about the prevailing flood conditions which has caused delay & damage in shipments to Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand.

Monsoon rains and unprecedented flash floods continued to spell death and destruction in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, claiming over 300 lives and leaving over 70,000 people stuck in the state. Flash floods, cloudbursts and landslips have so far claimed 81 lives in Uttar Pradesh, where several rivers are in spate.

The India -Tibet Road leading to the China border along Kinnaur is blocked at several locations due to flood situations. The Indian Chief Minister confirmed that 500 roads and 175 bridges in the state have been washed away.

A careful watch is being taken as regards to cargo and shipping facilities.
