Immigration Updates for customers moving to the Philippines – advice from fellow FIDI members in Philippines as seen below;
Please be advised we have received a new Memorandum from the Philippines Bureau of Immigration (BI).
Summary of Memorandum
Henceforth all documents which are not original and will be filed before the BI will have to be certified by a “responsible officer” of the sponsoring company. The words “Certified True Copy” must be included and the document signed by the responsible officer (such as HR Officer, Corporate Secretary, Legal Counsel, or similar Officer who can attest to the authenticity of the document).
In particular, below are the common documents that are being submitted to BI that are photocopied when applying for an Immigrant and Non-Immigrant visa (i.e 9g Visa), which should be submitted as certified true copies hereafter.
- Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Registration
- Mayors Permit / Business Permit
If the Original Contract of Employment of the expatriate employee is not available, a certified true copy signed by a responsible officer is also required.
Furthermore, the BI has come up with a certification format (attached) which need to be signed by the applicant and petitioner (such as an HR Officer) and printed on company letterhead. This will be an additional requirement from now on when a applying for an Immigrant and Non-Immigrant visa.
