Items Not To Be Included Within Unaccompanied Shipping of Personal Effects

This is intended as a general guide only. It is the responsibility of customers to ensure they are aware of the various import and customs regulations for the country you are moving to – ask your Customer Services Manager for details about the customs and import regulations for the country that you are moving to.

Prohibited Goods
Any item(s) may be hazardous to life, health or property, including those which contravene local or customs regulations.

These include:

  1. Aerosols and pressurised vessels, whether full or empty.
  2. All animal exhibits or skins without appropriate import and export licences.
  3. We strongly recommend not to ship food whether its tinned, dried or unopened packaging into any international country.
  4. Corrosives, eg bleach or paint stripper.
  5. Clothing, shoes or any ornaments made from skins, or the by-products of endangered species.
  6. Drugs or medicines (it is recommended these are taken in hand luggage with Doctor’s authorisation letter).
  7. Explosives, eg ammunition or fireworks.
  8. Inflammables, eg paint, petrol, lighter fuel, nail varnish remover, fire lighters, matches.
  9. Items which may encourage vermin, pests or cause infection.
  10. Poisons, eg weed killer.
  11. Pornographic literature, photographs or videos.
  12. Radioactive substances.
  13. Vegetable matter, eg compost, soil, straw or plants.

To be declared on entry

  1. Alcohol
  2. Firearms
  3. New purchases
  4. Perfumes / Aftershaves
  5. Tobacco products

Not insurable

  1. Personal items, eg jewellery, precious stones, trinkets or watches.
  2. Valuables, eg money, deeds or securities.
  3. Collections, eg coins and stamps, unless previously declared and agreed in writing.
  4. Furs, unless previously declared and agreed in writing.

NB: OUR EXPORT PACKERS ARE ADVISED TO REFUSE GOODS DECLARED AS PROHIBITED.
