Neil Pertoldi joined Abels in 2001, having been immersed in the industry from an early age, bringing his lifelong exposure to the removals industry. Beginning within the International Removals department, he coordinated complex overseas relocations before progressing into senior leadership.

With experience across domestic removals, international moving services, storage operations and commercial relocations, Neil oversees the strategic direction and operational standards of the business as Managing Director. His hands-on background ensures decisions are grounded in real-world logistics expertise.

He remains focused on maintaining the premium service standards for which Abels is known, particularly in high-value residential and international moves. By combining operational knowledge with forward thinking leadership, Neil ensures clients receive a structured, professional and reliable removals service at every stage of their relocation.

Marie Neave oversees Abels’ International Removals department, drawing on more than 30 years of relocation expertise. Having lived and worked internationally, she understands the practical and emotional complexities of moving abroad.

Leading the coordination of overseas removals, export packing, customs documentation and international shipping logistics, her experience spans European removals, long-distance international relocations and specialist household shipping services.

Marie ensures every international move is compliant, carefully structured and tailored to destination specific regulations. Her focus is on clarity, communication and reducing uncertainty throughout the process.

Darryl Browne joined Abels in 1984 and brings over four decades of experience in domestic removals, international moving services and operational logistics.

Progressing from porter to Senior Operations Manager, Darryl has extensive expertise in surveying, pricing, fleet management and overseeing large scale residential and commercial relocations. He also supervises specialist European removals routes and operational planning.

His practical understanding of removals operations allows him to anticipate challenges before they arise, ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate pricing and resource management.

Darryl’s focus is on delivering smooth, well organised removals supported by professional crews and reliable logistics. 

Alan Grierson joined Abels in 2012 following seven years in the Royal Air Force Regiment. He now supports domestic removals and commercial relocation operations while leading staff training across the business.

Qualified to operate articulated vehicles and forklifts, Alan ensures crews are fully trained in safe handling, specialist packing techniques and high-value removals procedures. He plays a key role in maintaining professional standards across residential and international moving projects.

His focus on safety compliance, operational readiness and continuous skills development ensures clients receive a consistently high quality service handled by experienced and capable professionals. 

Nicky Emerson has over 12 years’ experience coordinating UK domestic removals and commercial relocations at Abels.

She oversees complex moving schedules, managing residential relocations, office moves and high-profile projects requiring detailed logistical planning. Her expertise ensures that domestic removals are carefully structured, from initial consultation to final delivery.

Nicky prioritises communication and organisation, providing clients with clarity and reassurance throughout the moving process. By combining operational knowledge with attentive client care, Nicky helps deliver reliable and professionally managed relocation services to our clients.

Abigail Clark joined Abels in 2017 and specialises in UK domestic removals and complex residential relocations.

She oversees business development within the domestic removals team while consulting on detailed moving projects. Her experience spans high-value household moves and partnership-led referrals.

Abigail focuses on proactive communication and precision planning to ensure every move runs smoothly. She understands that moving home can be stressful and disruptive and works to minimise this through her organised approach and commitment to delivering professional, well-managed removals services across the UK. 

Phil Oakey has worked in international removals since 1982, bringing extensive experience in export packing, overseas shipping and global relocation planning.

Beginning in operational roles, he developed detailed knowledge of protective wrapping, container loading and handling high-value household goods. Today, he designs tailored international moving schedules for clients relocating worldwide.

His expertise covers European removals, long-distance shipping and compliance with international transport regulations.

Phil’s structured planning approach ensures overseas relocations are efficient, secure and professionally managed. Clients benefit from his decades of practical experience and deep understanding of international logistics.

Nick Illingworth joined Abels in 2025 with over 14 years’ experience across storage, logistics and customer service sectors.

Nick works closely with property professionals, complementary service providers and commercial partners to enhance the overall relocation experience.

Delia Gorgos joined Abels in 2023 and oversees brand communications across domestic removals, international moving services and commercial relocation departments.
