Our commitment to sustainability begins at the top. Here at Abels, we make sure that all our Senior Management conduct annual reviews of our recycling practices and environmental impact.

We continually monitor and update our efforts to ensure we are at the forefront of eco-friendly moving services. This covers our operations across the board, from streamlining our business and storage services to utilising the most sustainable materials in our professional packaging service.

Every member of the Abels team is trained to uphold our environmental values. From day one, staff are educated on sustainable practices, waste reduction, and responsible handling methods — ensuring our commitment to the planet is reflected in every move.

We continuously improve the efficiency of our vehicle fleet to lower emissions. Our sales and logistics vehicles are transitioning to electric and hybrid alternatives, while all combustion engines comply with Euro 6 emission standards. Drivers are trained in fuel-efficient practices, contributing to safer roads and cleaner air.

We exclusively use recycled and reusable materials for packing and storage, including repurposed cartons for fragile items. Our on-site recycling programme diverts cardboard, paper, and wood from landfill reducing waste and supporting our communities.

Abels is certified to ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental management systems. This reflects our long-term investment in greener operations, from reducing carbon output to managing waste responsibly. Sustainability is embedded in our culture — and verified by industry-leading standards.

BubbaTree is an innovative environmental initiative by AGM Group, the parent company of Abels, in collaboration with the World Land Trust.

For every domestic UK, European and international move Abels perform, we pledge to plant a tree in partnership with the World Land Trust.  Abels donation from your move will care for the tree during its growth.  

Planting of trees from the moves that Abels perform helps to regenerate the depleted forests that we have lost across the world, lowering the carbon footprint of your removal.  The reintroduction of trees and forested areas helps to bring back lost ecosystems for often endangered animals and plant species.  Only by us all participating in our small part will this contribute to a much larger benefit to reduce the current effect on our climate.  Each tree is estimated to absorb approximately 22 kilograms of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year.

Abels is committed to reducing its carbon footprint with the work that is being performed in conjunction with Planet Mark and as can be seen and reviewed in our environmental policy.
