Auckland Port Reports Closures in New Zealand

  • News

We have received notification from some of our shipping lines that Auckland will experience port closures shortly

Ports of Auckland have advised that the Fergusson and Bledisloe container terminals will be closed from 10.30pm on Thursday 1 December until 10.30pm on Monday 5 December 2011.

As a result of this closure, there will be some disruption to vessel schedules.

Many shipping lines have advised that their vessels will be effected and they are omitting the port of Auckland from their schedule during and shortly following these strikes.

Intention is to stay at Tauranga port and off load inbound cargo at this port destined for Auckland.

Should you be moving to New Zealand and have containers on vessels effected then you will have been contacted by your Abels Customer Liaison.

Our destination partner removal company will be collecting goods at the Tauranga terminal and moving to their required location if indeed delivery is needed in Auckland.

Outbound shipments coming back to the UK from New Zealand for customers returning to the UK will be loaded upon the vessel in Tauranga and face little or no impact, this will be managed by the shipping lines.

If you are concerned and wish to discuss this with Abels please call our head office number on +44 1842 816600 or shipping@abels.co.uk
