Moving to Pakistan – Transporter Strike

  • News

For customers planning on moving to Pakistan, we have been provided with updated information from our agents in connection with an on-going transporter strike at Karachi in Pakistan. The dispute has been running since Thursday 7th November 2013.

The movement of import and export cargo from ports in Karachi in Pakistan came to a halt on Thursday last week, as goods carriers went on an indefinite strike to protest against the non-acceptance of their demands.

The goods carriers complained that the truck stand outside the Karachi Fisheries has been illegally allotted to some builders.

They further complained that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), despite repeated requests, has not reduced the rate of advance income tax collected from goods carriers.
