The port of Casablanca, which handles almost 80% of containers arriving in Morocco, is currently congested.
In addition, local customs authorities have increased the number of physical container inspections. Customs officials now search the entire container, not just a sample. Shipments arriving from China are especially targeted, although containers arriving from other destinations are also being searched.
Customer should be aware that the congestion at Casablanca may lead to additional demurrage and port storage charges.
