Please an update on the continuing difficulties affecting the ports, terminals and intermodal operations in Canada.
Today, a joint action plan has been released by Transport Canada, Government of British Columbia and Port Metro Vancouver regarding the trucking dispute in Vancouver.
On March 11th, TSI notified all Deltaport and Vanterm carriers that they will only allow discharge import containers intended for rail, and load only export and empty containers after the GA NWX vessel Sophia Express ETA March 17 2014, unless a resolution is reached by the end of this week.
At time of writing, CN rail car fluidity is improving and a continued effort to address the congestion with additional rails cars on-route. Please take note that CN BIT has high volume of traffic and would suggest to manage your cargo accordingly.
Vessels continue to be affected by severe weather conditions in the Transatlantic region resulting in schedule delays. Please continue to monitor both port and rail cut-offs for changes.
Based on the current ground count and cars available on hand and or on-route, CN anticipates coverage of the current ground count as additional rails cars are scheduled to arrive this weekend.
Ceres terminal is closed on the 14th March 2014 due to an unforeseen incident with an inbound shipment.
