Moving to Yemen – Hodeidah Port Remains Inactive

For customers planning on moving to Yemen, Abels Moving Services have been made aware by our shipping agents that with the continuing hostilities in the country the port of Hodeidah in Yemen remains inactive.

Update as of 19th April 2015:
Our shipping agents have advised us of the following. The situation and hostilities in Yemen continue to worsen and ports remain inactive with no cargo movement.

We have been informed also that the feeder vessel “Andre Rickmers” awaiting berth outside Hodeidah port has now had to return to Jeddah under Force Majeure as they cannot be unloaded, where containers will be discharged in Jeddah. Bookings for cargo movements to Yemen have been stopped since the 2nd April and this process remains firmly in place.

Regarding affected cargo, either en route to Jeddah or on its way back to Jeddah, customer will be advised of the options available to them as soon as possible.
