Moving to The Congo Advice
Customers moving to The Congo are advised of recent increases at the port of Pointe Norte as advised by our local partners below;
With no prior notification and through a ministerial decree, port authorities in Pointe Noire, Congo, have increased the THCs (terminal handling charges), port storage charges and costs to move shipments from the port to the warehouse. The increase is applicable for all containers arriving and leaving the port from 1 March 2013.
Additional THC charges applicable are estimated at EUR 700 per 20ft container and EUR 1000 per 40ft container.
Port storage charges and costs to move shipments from the port to the customs bonded warehouse have been multiplied by 10 times. These additional charges will be reflected on the amount payable.
