Moving to Democratic Republic of Congo – Critical Situation in Kinshasa

Abels have been advised though our Agents about the critical situation in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo in August 2017.

A series of anti-government attacks took place on Monday, 07 August in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Various districts including the airport district, areas around the central prison and on the road towards Matadi were affected.

The situation has, however, stabilised. The opposition has called for a shut-down of all businesses on Tuesday, 08 August and Wednesday, 09 August and asked inhabitants not to travel or go to work in order to paralyse the country’s economy. Clients planning to move to or from the Democratic Republic of Congo need to be aware of the renewed tensions, which are expected over the course a couple of days in August. Disruptions and delays should be expected.
