Celebrating the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run 2023
The 5th of November 2023 marked a spectacular day for car enthusiasts and history buffs alike, as the RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run returned to hit the roads once again.

This iconic event traces its roots back to the Emancipation Run of 1896, a pivotal moment that marked the freedom of light locomotives from restrictive speed limits and the requirement of a preceding red flag bearer.
The event’s success was captivated by the Chairman of The Royal Automobile Club, Ben Cussons, as he set the tone of both celebration and appreciation for the unfailing annual support of the London to Brighton Car Run events:

As the sun dawned on Marlborough Road, hundreds of dedicated enthusiasts eagerly gathered to set up a display and witness the unforgettable event unfold. Joining the spirit of the event, our beautiful Shire horses arrived pulling our historic Pantechnicon into place, joined by our 1941 Bedford – a clear illustration of the rich history and heritage of Abels through the ages.

Recognising that one of the unique challenges vintage car owners face is the very limited boot space available for all their luggage, we were there to remove this constraint.
We were thrilled to offer our services and on the morning of the event, our dedicated team got to work. Collecting participants’ luggage from their hotels and arranging the bespoke transportation needs, our in-house trained team were at hand to provide a convenient solution that enhanced the overall experience for participants.
Using our specialised fleet of trucks, strategically stationed at Hyde Park to handle the logistics of the event, our team ensured that all collected luggage was transported either to the finish line or directly to the hotels in Brighton with efficiency and precision.
