Sunday the 8th of May 2002, saw two of Abels’ historic removal vans take part in the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society’s London to Brighton Run.
This annual event features a whole host of vintage vehicles including buses, fire engines, military trucks, and commercial vehicles like our very own Bedford MLD removal van and historic ERF KV. ERF stands for “Edwin Richard Foden”, who ran the Foden truck company until a falling out in 1930 when the board over his belief that the future of transport was in the diesel engine rather than steam!
This video of our vehicles at the start in Crystal Palace, London, was the last we saw of the grey weather, with both vehicles arriving in a timely fashion to glorious blue skies and high temperatures in Brighton.
