Sunday Times Explains How to Avoid Moving Misery

Abels Moving Services have noticed a very well written article in the Sunday Times about moving home. It explains a number of factors people should consider when planning a home move to avoid moving misery.

In the Sunday Times article published on Sunday the 17th April 2016, it makes it very clear the benefits of choosing to use a removal company that are members of organisations such as the British Association of Removers (BAR). Abels are proud members of BAR and we show this on the front page of our website see(www.abels.co.uk).

The full copy of the Sunday Times article can either be read in the paper, or as an alternative can be read online – see Sunday Times Article.

The Sunday Times highlighted other concerns:

  • Insurance coverage
  • Owner packing effects the insurance
  • Is VAT included or extra
  • Ensure the movers belong to a registered trade body BAR
  • Don’t just accept phone quotes
  • Gain at least 3 quotes
  • Don’t be fooled by “swanky websites/rave reviews” as they can be faked
  • Pay be credit card as it will be covered if they fail to turn up, be concerned about cash payments

It is mentioned in the Sunday Times that it is estimated there will be over 1.2 million households in the UK that are expected to move this year. With such a large number of people planning to move it is important for all to consider who they choose for carrying out there move.

If you are planning a move either within the UK or on an international basis then you are welcome to contact Abels Moving Services who would be delighted to assist you with your move.
