Abels Moving Services offers a comprehensive service for moving collections or valuable items, such as fine art, antiques, wine, paintings or other valuable possessions, across the UK.

One of the UK’s leading moving companies, Abels evolved from an auctioneering background and has maintained an innovative and sympathetic approach to the requirements of private collectors and the museum and commercial gallery worlds. We meet the conditions specified by the Museums & Galleries Commission for the movement of exhibits to and from museums and art galleries.

Services are offered on a modular basis – clients are able to select which aspects they require. We can offer a “turnkey” service that includes transportation, crating, packing, shipping and storage.

Every client is allocated a project manager, nominated customer liaison personnel, operative crew (all nominated, fully trained and security cleared), plus packers, case-makers and warehouse technicians as required. All work is audited by our full time Quality Manager. Every member of staff takes part in an on-going programme of personal development at our training centre to maintain our high company standards. Many staff hold professional qualifications and have considerable experience in moving high-value items.
