Shipping Cars to Zimbabwe – Updated – Ban Delayed

Posted on: March 17th, 2011 by neil 7 Comments

Regulations regarding the shipping of cars to Zimbabwe is changing.

Updated advice:

The below information was presented and since we have been informed that this ruling has been postponed until the 31st October 2011, after this date the ruling will be applied.

Please be advised that as of 30th June 2011  from 31st October 2011, Zimbabwe will no longer permit the importation of second hand motor vehicles that are over 5 years old.

In addition, Zimbabwe has also banned the import of any left hand drive vehicles – of any age.

Shipping lines and destination agents will take the stance that should such vehicles arrive and be declined entry to the country (because the customer has not listened to these regulations), all costs and penalties will be for the account of the Shipper.   Indeed there will be a need to have the car disposed of in Zimbabwe or shipped back to where it originated.
