MOVERS ARE SHAKERS IN LIFTING STANDARDS
Abels Moving Services has announced that its ‘Investors in People’ accreditation has been renewed for a record fourth time.
Although training is widely considered to be a priority in the moving industry none are as passionate as Abels who has long been regarded the leader in this sector. Since being recognised as an Investor in People in 1996, the first removals company to receive this prestigious award, it has been continually commended for maintaining its high standards, company ethos, and for its ongoing emphasis on staff development.

In the training facilities at the head office in Brandon, Suffolk, which is a purpose built and furnished house into which many visitors would like to move, Abels staff are taught how to handle all types of furniture in difficult situations and the specialist techniques for protecting antiques and valuable china or glass whilst in transit. The firm’s training expertise is recognised by the industry, and its courses are provided to many other organisations including blue chip furniture retailers who recognise the expertise is second to none.
Abels continually looks to improve the training it offers its staff. Recent developments include increasing the length of induction training for crews and placing more emphasis on ensuring office based staff also learn how the operational teams handle the challenging pieces so they can empathise better with their customers during a stressful period in their lives.
Philip Pertoldi, group managing director of Abels, said: “ We are very proud to have had our Investors in People accreditation renewed for another three years. We value our employees and consider them to be the company’s best assets.”
“At a time when companies promise much but deliver little we know our well-trained and conscientious people are crucial to Abels’ success and its highly acclaimed reputation for quality and professionalism."
This is a sentiment echoed by the IIP Assessor who amongst a list of many key strenghs and areas of good practice said”Abels continues to be an excellent company with a loyal, dedicated, skilled and enthusiastic team of people”
Abels has a long established record of high standards, and was the first company to be granted a Royal Warrant for removal & storage services to H.M. the Queen. A recent customer satisfaction survey showed that 99% of Abels’ clients were at the least very satisfied and would both use the company again, and recommend Abels to friends or family.
