Warning signs that your child is not adjusting
Some children have a more difficult time adjusting to a move than other children. Below are some signs of stress reactions to moving:
• Hostility and moodiness• Hair twirling, nervous ticks
• Shyness and quietness
• Wanting to be alone
• Lethargy
• Sudden aggressiveness; shows of violence
• Trouble concentrating (which often leads to lower marks in school)
• Frequent stomach-aches or headaches
• Thumb-sucking
• Bed-wetting
• Baby talk
• Excessive need for attention from parents
• Refusal to eat, overeating
• Nightmares, insomnia, interrupted sleeping patterns
